What began as a music school in Leeds is becoming a network of welcoming, forward-thinking learning communities across Yorkshire and beyond.

As we expand into new towns and neighbourhoods, we're looking for passionate musicians, thoughtful educators and people who genuinely care about helping others learn.

At Music Lab, we believe that great teaching is about much more than developing musical ability.

It's about building confidence, encouraging curiosity, creating meaningful relationships and helping people discover what they're capable of.

We don't expect every student to become a professional musician. We do expect every student to leave our lessons feeling that they've grown.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're always interested in hearing from educators across a wide range of instruments and disciplines, including:

• Piano and keyboard

• Guitar and bass

• Drums and percussion

• Violin, cello and other strings

• Singing and vocal coaching

• Woodwind and brass

• Music theory, composition and songwriting

We teach children, teenagers and adults through individual lessons, small-group programmes and specialist workshops.

​

We particularly value educators who combine strong musical knowledge with empathy, creativity, reliability and a genuine interest in how people learn.

You don't need to be a perfect musician. You do need to care deeply about becoming an excellent teacher.

We believe that music education should strengthen the communities in which it operates.

That's why we particularly encourage applications from musicians who already live in or near the towns and neighbourhoods where we're opening new branches.

We want our teachers to become familiar, trusted members of their local musical communities.

Of course, applications from teachers who are happy to commute are equally welcome.

Our ambition is to create a growing network of opportunities for musicians across Yorkshire and, eventually, further afield.

TEACHING WITH PURPOSE

We take our responsibility to students seriously.

Consistency, safeguarding, professional conduct and a genuine commitment to students' long-term development are fundamental to working with Music Lab.

We welcome teachers with different backgrounds, qualifications, experiences and musical journeys. What matters most is your ability to connect with learners, communicate effectively and embrace continuous improvement.

We also recognise that many excellent teachers are active performers, composers and recording artists. We value that experience and simply ask that teaching commitments are treated with the professionalism our students deserve.

Some positions may be available immediately. Others will emerge as new branches open.
